LUXURY LIGHTING FOR BESPOKE INTERIOR DESIGN

FROM AN IDEA OF ELETTRA LAMBORGHINI TO A LIGHTING FIXTURE
FOR THE IMMENSE STAIRCASE OF HER HOUSE

At Patrizia Volpato we deeply care for the quality of our creations.

Our vision related to lighting gets inspiration from tradition and craftsmanship, two aspects which are well expressed within the design of our catalogue collections that relate to the past as well as to the present, still always keeping in mind the future with technological solutions which we often are the precursors of.

This combination of innovation and craftsmanship is what distinguishes us and what gives virtue to the creations signed by Patrizia Volpato. Refined and elegant decòrative lighting fixture that spread the Made in Venice worldwide, represented as New Forms of Light.

It was this singularity of the Brand Patrizia Volpato that caught the attention of Elettra Lamborghini and which urged her to contact us for the development of a custom-made project focused on the wide staircase of her new house.

THE CREATIVE IDEA AND THE MANAGEMENT OF THE STRUCTURAL
AND DESIGN RESTRAINTS OF THE PROJECT FOR ELETTRA LAMBORGHINI

Every custom-made project related to lighting technologies is always challenging since amongst the inalienable prerogatives of such projects we may find the uniqueness and the virtue of light.

Design must consider the main concept with which the house is made as well as its architectural features that, sometimes, may represent some structural restraints for which our technical team must study some innovative solutions, that also reflect the client’s expectations.

Moreover, the creation of a unique Chandelier or of a set of lighting fixtures meant for wide spaces or also separate environments, must have a consistent footprint and a leading theme to create harmony within the house.

Talking about the project for Elettra Lamborghini, we had to face three important constraints:

  • A structural, architectural element – the skylight with a dome-shape that irradiates natural light.
  • the existence within the house of other chandeliers and spotlights which follow the same theme of the sphere.
  • the size of the lighting fixture that extends for 9 meters of height, along the 3 floors of the building.

These restraints have been a challenging occasion and a source of inspiration; our team proved itself and the final result is something unique and unforgettable.

Before getting to the actual installation, 6 months have passed, with over 2.000 working hours and 30 people involved.

Everything started from an idea of Elettra, which we gave life to. Her satisfaction is also ours and to have been able to create exactly what she had so far only imagined is for us extremely exiting.

BRIGHT ELEMENTS IN MURANO GLASS THAT NARRATE A STORY DEALING WITH
TRADITON, COMBINED WITH TECHNOLOGY AND MODERNIZATION

As she selected Patrizia Volpato for the development of the chandelier that dominates space by fluctuating in the air within the immense staircase, Elettra also chose Venetian blown glass which represents the precious element that distinguishes our creations.

For this great result 170 Murano blown glass spheres and 69 faceted crystal spheres have been used.

Each single sphere has been handcrafted in the workshops of our master glass makers who have been handing down the ancient unchanged glass working techniques for centuries.

These spheres, all different from each other and therefore unique, maintain their authenticity thanks to their small imperfections due to craftsmanship. The individual imperfections transform into a signature and transfer preciosity to such element, making the spheres unique and inimitable.

Transparency and decoration are the result of a working process made by means of ancient techniques, whilst the different sizes of the spheres offer motion and levity to the chandelier, which comes down into the empty space like a cascade of light in which the lighting elements seems to be floating in the air.

A beautiful scenic effect both when the lights are on as well as when the lights are off, without interfering with the natural light that penetrates through the dome-shaped skylight, that instead is emphasized by the fluctuating spheres, pending by means of cables that offer an immaterial effect.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LISTENING TO THE CLIENT: A PARTECIPATION THAT TRANSLATES
INTO COMPREHENSION, COLLABORATION AND SATISFACTION

We couldn’t have developed this impressive chandelier without a communication committed to listening.

Our approach towards the client starts from a complete availability that goes beyond the standard one. This is because only thanks to a constant communication and the expression of any doubt and desire, can we find the solutions capable of satisfying the client’s expectations.

In the specific case referred to the lighting project for Elettra Lamborghini, we removed all boundaries related to formality within communications and we created a group chat that enabled us to have a constant confrontation, without hour limitations nor any other constraint.

This approach, always caring for the client’s needs, allowed us to develop a work-in-progress process that met the required time schedule right until the actual installation of this impressive chandelier in Elettra’s house took place.

For us at Patrizia Volpato, this is the standard way of operating: an approach towards clients focused on listening is fundamental, especially when facing complex projects that refer to several elements and lighting fixture just like as happens with hotels or with cruise ships.

We are here considering complex projects, where the production requires extremely long timings and where uncertainties that emerge during the development must find a solution within the given deadlines.

Our inclination towards listening our clients and towards developing solutions that can be easily applicable yet always technologically advanced is an added value for the client and a way to guarantee the perfect outcome.

Our lighting creations bring Made in Italy lighting worldwide, not only by means of our collections yet also and most of all by means of custom-made projects that we develop for private but also public clients, shipowners and hotel chains.
