3D TECHNOLOGY, LED LIGHTS, CLEAN ENERGY,
RECYCLED AND REUSABLE MATERIALS
5 June is World Environment Day, which focuses attention on the issue of plastic pollution and on the need for a tangible commitment by nations to protect the sea and all ecosystems both with reference to companies as well as in our daily life.
The environmental issue and sustainability are topics that we care a lot about and that Patrizia Volpato never forgets to mention, not only through its blog or its social channels, but also for which it has undertaken a process of change aimed at reducing its environmental impact and at protecting the environment that surrounds us.
Let us therefore take advantage of the recurrence of World Environment Day to express our support and our adherence to change. A change that starts from awareness and that advanced technologies can help put into practice, accelerating the transition towards a circular economy that is more respectful of the planet.
For this reason, Patrizia Volpato has embraced the indications of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and promotes Open Innovation in the production of its lighting fixtures – chandeliers, wall and floor lamps, pendant chandeliers – with the introduction, in its production processes, of new solutions that are based on innovation, digitisation and advanced technologies.
The goal is to offer lighting items that not only are capable of reducing waste and optimising energy consumption, but that are also compliant with a green economy.
THE ECOLOGICAL AND ENERGY TRANSITION STARTS
FROM THE USE OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Patrizia Volpato has begun a process of change – which is still expanding – thanks to the introduction of advanced technologies and targeted actions aimed at reducing waste and optimising production processes in order to ensure a significant reduction of its environmental impact.
Among the various actions implemented, the first concerns the reduction of all consumptions for sustainable lighting and the use of eco-friendly materials in packaging.
The reduction of consumptions is proposed through the use of LED lights in all of the chandeliers, floor and table lamps, wall lights and pendant chandeliers of its collections .
LED light bulbs have a longer life (up to 8-10 times longer) and consume less electricity (up to 85% less) than traditional light bulbs, guaranteeing savings in economic terms, lower energy expenditure and, consequently, a lower emission of carbon dioxide – CO2 – into the atmosphere.
In addition to proposing LED lamps and chandeliers, Patrizia Volpato has opted for packaging produced with recycled or recyclable materials and FSC-certified boxes i.e. using wood from responsibly managed forests in compliance with rigorous environmental, social and economic standards.
This orientation towards the reduction of environmental impact associated with the entire production process and the life stages of our lighting fixtures is expressed, in addition to the introduction of LEDs and eco-friendly packaging, with the adoption of responsible behaviour towards the environment, such as:
- Footprint calculation;
- Proper disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE);
- The elimination of lead and hexavalent chromium from all products;
- The exclusive use of energy deriving from 100% renewable sources;
- The offsetting of CO2 emissions through the planting of 6 hectares of bamboo;
- Precise communication to the customer with instructions for the correct disposal of the product;
- The use of advanced technology and digitisation with the aim of reducing waste, including a latest-generation 3D printer;
- The construction of a photovoltaic roof to eliminate methane gas from the plant (design in progress);
- ISO 14001 certification for measurement and compensation, which entails a careful selection of suppliers who must be qualified in terms of sustainability (project under implementation).
Being a sustainable company means applying green solutions in production and raising awareness among its staff, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact and reducing energy consumption, using renewable sources and minimising waste.
This is why the introduction of a Binder Jetting 3D printer, as well as allowing the production of tiny and complex parts with extreme precision, is a deliberate and sustainable choice. This type of production, in fact, offers the opportunity for reworking and allows the recovery and reuse of raw materials.
CLASSIC OR MODERN LED LIGHTING FOR
AN EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE LIGHT
LED is one of the most extraordinary innovations of recent times, capable of producing a brightness five times higher than that of traditional light bulbs and energy savings which translate into environmental and economic sustainability.
Furthermore, the LED does not contain dangerous substances and does not pollute:
- it does not contain harmful gases or toxic substances;
- it does not produce light pollution: the LED shines but does not saturate the environment;
- it does not produce UV rays that are harmful for humans;
- it does not emit IR rays that are harmful to the eyes following direct exposure.
A choice that Patrizia Volpato supports in all of its collections of lighting fixtures regardless of style and design, such as:
A collection that offers modern pendant chandeliers with a minimal and clean style available in three different finishes, which uses integrated long-life LEDs.
These pendant lights, made up of rings available in different sizes and modular between each other, are made up of a very discreet aluminium structure that gives the observer the illusion that it is the light that creates the shape of the pendant item.
The New York collection offers crystal chandeliers , ceiling lamps, wall lights e and integrated LED ceiling lights that recall an industrial design.
The diffusers, with a rectangular shape, are real light boxes made up of lozenges of the purest hand-ground crystal.
The preciousness of the crystal of the diffusers gives refinement and luxurious elegance to the environment, maintaining a contemporary and modern style.
Crypto is a collection of LED pendant lights featuring Murano glass.
These are chandeliers with exposed wires whose diffusers are handmade in different sizes and cuts to give a greater effect of reflected light. The craftsmanship in the workshops of the Murano master glass-makers makes each diffuser precious and inimitable, giving each lighting fixture a unique character.
The blown glass is available in different colours and shades to create original ceiling chandeliers and chandeliers with long pendant wires that allow the light installation to be adapted according to the structural needs of the environment.
